Naturally, before we consider cleaning a floor mattress we need to know what a floor mattress is. Many people in the western world have never heard of a floor mattress but they are quite common in the remaining parts of the world.
Simply put, floor mattresses are designed as roll-up pieces of fabric that allow people to sleep on the floor. They are really quite handy, but naturally, a floor mattress can get quite dirty.
So, how To Clean Floor Mattress?
The first thing to do in how to clean floor mattress is to determine whether the mattress is wet or dry.
Generally, unless children or pets are involved, the floor mattress will be dry.
But assuming it is wet, there are additional steps that need to be taken. The object of course, is to get rid of the smell of uring before it soaks into the mattress.
This can be done by using one of three products.
First, remove the outer covering and put it into the washing machine as soon as possible.
Then, with the mattress exposed, use either white vinegar, an Enzymatic Cleaner, or baking soda.
Blot as much of the wet spot dry with paper towels, then spread the vinegar, baking soda, or cleaner directly on the wet spot. Be sure to let everything dry and then let vacuum everything up.
If the mattress is dry, then try dabbing the stains with hydrogen peroxide, or use a dry foam designed to lift out stains.
If the area is already dry you will have a harder time, getting the stains out, but that’s really okay. As long as you remove the smell, that’s what counts.
Once the floor mattress is completely clean, dry and vacuumed, then add your freshly washed mattress bedding, and you are good to go.
Once we’ve completely spot cleaned either a wet or dry mattress, it’s time to flip it.
After all, a floor mattress has two sides.
The main element in general if you cannot put your mattress outside to dry is to use plenty of baking soda. Baking soda is a natural deodorizer.
Most of us will take a spray bottle and mix it with baking da and water and gently but liberally spritz the baking soda everywhere.
Be sure to let the baking soda dry and vacuum it up before you roll your mattress up and put it into the closet.
Conclusion
A floor mattress can be significantly bigger than an ordinary bed mattress. But when we use logical steps, there are plenty of ways to keep them fresh and tidy.
